Join a project as an industry advisor to see students doing great things.
Industry advisers play a key role in the success of collaborative real-world projects we set up with schools. The willingness of adults outside of school to offer their knowledge, encouragement and time inspires students to do more and gives them a broader view of what’s possible in Milwaukee.
How you may impact a student’s passion
Below are the project themes teachers are implementing at their schools during the 2023-24 school year. For additional description of these projects, please follow the link to their individual pages. My role in a water centric city
Milwaukee promotes itself as a Water Centric City. What does that mean, and more importantly, what does it mean to me? Students explore Milwaukee rivers and waters with science projects to develop an appreciation for the water rich environment they live in, and what their role might be in preserving it for every member of the community to thrive.
Architecture – (re)design learning spaces
What if we gave students a chance to see that their ideas can make a difference in the world? What if we asked them to rethink school as an environment that stimulates their engagement in learning?
Youth Mental Health: encouraging Youth Voice to improve the learning environment for all.
What might happen when we elevate the voices of students to address issues that matter to them and which stand in the way of their continued successful learning journey?
MKE Skates: What might happen if students propose a site for a skate park and build the components.
Are skateboard parks evil? Can they contribute to the well being of a community? What if students learned about civics, real estate development and engineering by building a skate board park in collaboration with the city they live in?
